LEAPCare Africa invites Christian ministry leaders to explore becoming certified Care Coaches, providing compassionate, Scripture-grounded pastoral and spiritual care to employees and their families throughout South Africa.
Our Care Coaches demonstrate Christ's love through meaningful relationships, confidential support, compassionate listening, and prayer when welcomed. We serve individuals of all faith backgrounds, helping them navigate life's challenges with dignity, encouragement, and hope.
LEAPCare Africa is seeking mission-driven Care Coaches to provide confidential, Scripture-grounded pastoral care, spiritual support, and compassionate assistance to employees and their families within assigned businesses and organisations throughout South Africa.
This role is ideal for Christian leaders with a servant-leadership mindset who are passionate about demonstrating Christ's love through relational ministry beyond traditional church walls. Care Coaches serve individuals of all faith backgrounds, including those with no religious affiliation, through meaningful relationships, encouragement, prayer when welcomed, crisis support, and a consistent workplace presence.
Our ministry is rooted in historic biblical Christianity, with all care provided voluntarily, confidentially, and with the individual's permission.
Demonstrate a missionary mindset by building caring, trusting relationships with employees and workplace leaders.
Provide regular on-site workplace visits and relationship-based pastoral care within assigned businesses and organisations.
Offer confidential emotional, pastoral, and spiritual support to employees and their family members.
Provide prayer, biblical encouragement, practical guidance, and compassionate care when welcomed.
Respond appropriately to personal crises, hospitalisations, bereavement, family emergencies, and other significant life challenges.
Build and maintain strong, two-way communication and trusted relationships with employees, client leadership, and LEAPCare Africa leadership.
Respect individual beliefs, cultural backgrounds, and personal boundaries while remaining faithful to LEAPCare Africa's Christian mission.
Follow LEAPCare Africa policies, ministry standards, training materials, and established care protocols.
Demonstrate professionalism, compassion, humility, cultural sensitivity, and servant leadership in all interactions.
Maintain accurate records of ministry activities, timely follow-up, and appropriate communication with employees and workplace contacts while protecting confidentiality.
Foster a collaborative, team-oriented environment with fellow Care Coaches, managers, and organisational leadership.
Follow reasonable and lawful instructions from LEAPCare Africa leadership while upholding the organisation's mission, values, and ministry standards.
To perform this role successfully, an individual must demonstrate the knowledge, skills, experience, and abilities necessary to provide effective Christian pastoral care within South African workplaces. Reasonable accommodation may be provided to qualified individuals with disabilities in accordance with applicable South African employment legislation.
Minimum of 5 years of full-time experience in a secular workplace environment. Experience exclusively within church ministry does not satisfy this requirement. A relevant business qualification may reduce the required years of workplace experience.
Bachelor's degree or equivalent recognised tertiary qualification in Biblical Studies, Theology, Ministry, or a related field from an accredited or appropriately recognised institution.
Strong personal Christian faith, commitment to historic biblical Christianity, and demonstrated servant leadership.
Genuine calling to pastoral care and a passion for demonstrating Christ's love through workplace ministry.

Ability to provide compassionate, permission-based pastoral and spiritual care to individuals of all faith backgrounds, including those with no religious affiliation.
Ability to work effectively within industrial, manufacturing, warehousing, corporate office, and other workplace environments.
Emotional maturity and the ability to respond appropriately to employee crises, bereavement, family difficulties, and other significant life challenges.
Proficiency in Microsoft Word, Excel, email, internet-based applications, and mobile communication platforms.
Valid South African driver's licence and access to reliable transport for regular workplace visits.
Master of Divinity (MDiv), postgraduate qualification in Theology, Pastoral Ministry, or a related discipline.
Formal ordination, ministerial credentials, or recognised endorsement from a Christian denomination or ministry organisation.
Previous experience in pastoral ministry, chaplaincy, pastoral counselling, social work, employee assistance, caregiving, or Christian ministry leadership.
Demonstrated experience supporting individuals and families through crises, grief, trauma, or major life transitions.
Experience serving in multicultural workplace or community ministry environments.
Proficiency in additional South African languages beyond English.
Regular local travel to assigned client workplaces and surrounding communities.
Ability to conduct routine visits across various workplace environments, including offices, factories, warehouses, and industrial facilities.
Ability to respond to urgent pastoral care needs, including hospital visits, bereavement support, and family emergencies, as reasonably required.
Work may involve a combination of office, industrial, manufacturing, and field-based environments.
Ability to fulfil the essential responsibilities of the position, with reasonable accommodation where appropriate.
All LEAPCare Africa Care Coaches are expected to uphold the organisation's Christian mission, biblical foundations, and commitment to compassionate, confidential, and permission-based care.
Care Coaches must demonstrate spiritual maturity, personal integrity, cultural sensitivity, and a genuine desire to serve others while respecting the dignity and beliefs of every individual.
